Job Description:
This position requires managing and executing Water and Wastewater projects. The Project Manager will work with Business Development, Estimation Team, Programmers, Control Panel designers, Instrumentation Technicians, panel shop, and clients to understand the project needs and system requirements to execute the project deliverables on time and within the estimate.
As an experienced professional, you will pay attention to details and plan and execute projects according to strict deadlines and within budget for the deliverable.
Prime Duties :
- • Write new system application PLC/SCADA program code using control narratives to specific Customer standards and requirements.
- • Develop, implement, test, and deploy SCADA programming, databases, and graphic screens using relevant software (Proficy iFix, Rockwell Factory View, Aveva Wonderware Intouch, Aveva System Platform, WinCC, Ignition)
- • Develop FAT/SAT documentation for projects according to specifications.
- • Perform hardware and software FAT/SAT as required.
- • Analyze the performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of the End User.
- • Confer with users to gain an understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs while maintaining an “out of scope” log to capture project extras.
- • Write and maintain programming and project documentation.
- • Provide project software execution “effort” hours for estimating.
- • Provide training and mentorship for junior programming resources.
- • Provide programming effort estimates for new projects by reviewing project contract documents.
Skills and Experience
- • Review contract documents, specifications, proposals, and estimates in detail to understand the project scope, possible issues, and timeline.
- • Lead project kick-off meetings, detailing all requirements assessed during the estimating phase.
- • Delegating tasks and responsibilities with deadlines to the appropriate personnel.
- • Setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- • Focus resources on maximizing monthly deliverables and invoicing
- • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying potential crises and delivering contingency plans. Assess and control project risks.
- • Developing and growing business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- • Conducting project post-mortems and creating recommendation reports identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- • Work effectively with other team members and maintain positive morale and a sense of teamwork.
- • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
- • Developing best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- • Resolving and escalating issues in a timely fashion. Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
- • Attending site meetings as required.
- • Technical personnel management when required.
- • Identify business development and “add-on, Change Order” sales opportunities related to a specific project.
- • Hold regular status meetings with clients, the project team, and senior management.
- • Keep track of lessons learned and share those lessons with team members.
- • Assuring project legal documents are completed and signed.
- • CSA and UL electrical standards knowledge is an asset.
- • PMP designation and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering an asset.
